November is here and now that we near the end of the month, we experience what I think of as the most wonderful time of the holiday season. A time of Thanksgiving can be significant to each one of us. We are thankful for all that we have and all that we are able to strive for. We are grateful for one another and glad to help others. Our chapter has had a wonderful year, providing scholarships to deserving students of our profession and donating to relief efforts for Superstorm Sandy for work at the South Street Seaport Museum. Our monthly events are filled with camaraderie and passion for what we do. We're all in this, not only for our own development but for our community of fellow professionals and for the larger community.

Join us and see firsthand what I'm talking about! Participate in a committee and share your own expertise with the community. The next months will be awesome! Starting with our December holiday party, and each month next year, there's a full schedule of learning and networking opportunities. Our committees are listening to our membership and working to provide what you want to see and learn at our meetings. Tom Lanzotti, Membership Chair, personally welcomes each of our new members. Bill Jacquette, Education Chair, makes sure that everyone attending our programs receives learning credits. Chris Kroeter and Leah Convery-Meyer of the House Committee are our ambassadors at the door, the first faces we see at our meetings. Thanks to all of them for their continuing dedication and support.

The Metropolitan New York Chapter was well-represented at CSI's Northeast Region Conference, with Cliff Marvin and Ken Raikowski attending in Rochester. All the Northeastern chapters were in attendance, and our Chapter was awarded the “Large Chapter Membership Award.” You'll hear more about that at the Holiday Party, when the award will be officially presented.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, the committee chairs and other leaders of the Metropolitan New York Chapter of CSI, we wish you all a very special Thanksgiving.

“We are CSI”
