Our Metropolitan CSI Family was very busy this year!

The programs presented at our monthly meetings continue to remain strong.

Highlights from this last year include:
January 2012 Special program in conjunction with the Museum of New York “An Evening with Kevin Roche, Architect".\
February 2012  “McKim, Meade & White, The Classical Ideal” with Samuel White, FAIA, LEED AP. This firm once dominated American architecture with over 1,000 commissions.\
March 2012 “Social Media for Construction Professionals” presented by Joy Davis, CSI, CCPR, CSI Communications & Web Community Senior Manager.
April 2012 “NYC High Line Park Tour and Bowling Night” touring NYC’s public park built on an abandoned elevated freight rail track bed.
May 2012 “Networking Live” at the Grohe Showroom, an evening of one-on-one and small group meetings among architects, specification writers, product representatives, construction managers, students, and contractors.
June 2012 the Sixty-First Annual Awards and Officer Installation.
August 2012 the Board held its annual planning retreat.
September 2012 “Golf Outing” at the South Shore Country Club and sponsored by the Metro NY and Long Island CSI Chapters. Also in September, Bill DuBois and Tom Lanzelotti presented "Building Infomration Modeling and Integrated Project Delivery".
October 2012 "Connect NYC: People, Products & Information” Annual Trade Show and Educational Day. Seth Pinsky, President of the NYC Economic Development Council was our keynote speaker.
November 2012 “Specifications 101” with Michael Bean, Bill DuBois, and Linton Stables.

There are some special people in our organization who always step up to the plate when called upon, and they need to be recognized. The Board of Directors and Committees that make our organization go: Anthony Drummond, Bill Jacquette, Angela Centanni, Linton Stables, Bert Korteling, Bob Crane, Tom Lanzelotti, Arnie Kravitz, and Kenneth Raikowski; then there are Cliff Marvin, Russ Carpenter, Susan Kaplan, Ruma Som, Dennis Italia, Luis Rosario, Mary Hosley, Bill DuBois, Chris Kroeter, and Scott Tobias.

A special thank you to Tom Lanzelotti, Bill DuBois, and Ruma Som for their brilliant idea to automate our outdated Metro CSI NY Chapter’s nametag system.

Someone once said, "We should live every day like it is a holiday, being thankful and spending time with family, and looking hopefully to the future." I totally agree.

Have a joyous holiday season!
Jeffrey Matles, President
