Our Mission
The mission of CSI is to advance building information management and education of project teams to improve facility performance.

How We Do It
The Metropolitan New York Chapter is part of CSI, a national association of more than 13,000 volunteers, including specifiers, architects, engineers, contractors, facility mangers, product representatives, manufacturers, owners and others who are experts in building construction and the materials used therein. They are dedicated to improving the communication of construction information through:

  • A diversified membership base of allied professionals involved in the creation and management of the built environment. The Metro New York Chapter includes architects, manufacturers' representatives, contractors, construction managers, professors, students, and specification writers. Join us!
  • Continuous development and transformation of standards and formats. The Metro New York Chapter is involved in the promulgation of CSI's standards and formats to agencies and companies in the New York area, encompassing over 20 million residents.
  • Education and certification of professionals to improve project delivery processes. Our Chapter provides educational programs each month and at an annual Trade Show and Education Day. The Metro New York Chapter also provides a scholarship each year to a student of architecture or construction in the New York area. In addition, we are involved in the Construction Management Program at Pratt Institute, mentoring students and providing technical education resources to faculty.
  • Creation of practice tools to assist users throughout the facility life-cycle. Join a CSI Practice Group! Our Metro New York Chapter members are actively involved in the CSI community and our local design and construction community.

Our Goals, Objectives, and Strategies for This Year
